About the Book
His holiness Shri Rama Krishna used to give one book each to those youngmen who approached him seeking Salvation. The name of the book is “Mukti ebong Tahar Sadhan”. Reference to this book is found in “Shri Shri Ramakrishna Lila Prasanga” and “Shri Shri Rama Krishna Kathamrita”. This book, which was extensively used by Shri Rama Krishna during his lifetime, is preserved in the library of Belur Math.
The compiler of this book has endeavoured to show that salvation of the soul is the sole objective of human life. In support, he quoted proofs from the Vedas, ancient law books, and from works on philosophy, Puranas and Tantra. Those who do not want to come anywhere near the path of Salvation have been termed as “Manushya-garbha-jata Gardhbha” by the author of Yogavashishtha. One who is free from rebirth is called “Satya-Jata” — such a man is the repository of all that is beneficial for this world. His holiness Rama Krishna also said “the objective of human life is to attain God”, and that is the reason he used to instruct all seekers of salvation to read this book.
On the occasion of the one hundred and fiftieth year of the auspicious appearance of Shri Rama Krishna, this work, extensively used by him during his lifetime, is being republished without any change or amendment, for the benefit of the public in general.

About the English Edition – Shri Milind Gadkari
Shri Milind Gadkari is a retired banker who was drawn towards spirituality around 2013–14. During a visit to the Rama Krishna Mission Ashram in Kolkata, he came across the Bengali book “Mukti o Tahar Sadhan” and was struck by its popularity. He decided to bring out an English version so that a wider, non-Bengali readership could benefit from it.
