One of the biggest processions of Hindu Culture, Ratha Yatra of Lord of the Universe Mahaprabhu Jagannatha, is taking place on the 4th of July this year. Like every year hundreds of thousand Hindus come as one to pull the divine chariots upon which our gods will be on board. This eternally divine and joyful ritual is being practiced in the Puri, Odisha for many centuries now.

Three Rathas of Lords are known as:

  • Nandighosh Rath: This chariot belongs to Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannatha. It is a 45ft high and having sixteen wheels. The fabric of the roof is in Red and Yellow color.
  • Taladvaja Rath: Belongs to Balabhadra, the height of this chariot is 43ft and has 12 wheels. The fabric color of the roof is Red and Green. Tala fruit is placed on top of the chariot.
  • Padmadhvaja Rath: This rath belongs to lady Subhadra. It is 43ft(12.9mts)in height and consists of twelve wheels. The fabric of the roof is in Red and Black color.

Apart from these facts, Rath Yatra also contains gigantic vibrancy which brings happiness, empathy and most importantly unity among the Hindus. Which also is very much important to seek today!
