About the Book
The author surveys the origin, distribution both in space and time, stratigraphic sequence, inter and intrarelating factors of continuity and change in the Indian Black Wares (viz. BRW, GW, PGW, BSW & NBPW) during first millennium B.C. Why is a sudden affluence of this variety of ware during the aforesaid period? Why does one find a kind of cultural homogeneity among these wares? How did one ceramic industry effect the others in the same as well as in different geographical horizons? To tackle these problems the author has his own interpretations which add a new dimension to the existing knowledge about ancient Indian ceramics and the associated cultures.
